If you had to describe your job to a 3rd grader, how would you describe it and why is it important?

I work for a software company, where we build and maintain a population health management(PHM) application called Essette. Typically used by Health insurance companies to manage their members, our application helps to make sure claims and other documentation are processed in a timely order.  The Essette application also helps health plans keep a better eye on their membership in order to avoid and/or limit fraud, waste and abuse; resulting in more affordable health care.

My role within Gainwell – Essette (Essette Support) is to work as a mediator between the developers of Essette and the Client (health plan). I determine if an issue reported by the client needs fixing or training, then follow through with any testing, feedback or meetings as needed with the Client for the duration of that issue. So, if something is broken, I work with the developer until it is fixed, then test the fix and send it back to the client. If the client is not certain about something or has a question about the application, I also assist with answering those questions.

I know my job is important because the Members of the health plans I collaborate with are my priority.

Whenever we make it back to the office: Team building outings and Friday lunches 😊 – basically any opportunity to get to know my coworkers better, and share a few laughs
